On reflection 2023 was one of the most challenging years I’ve been through, and I know I’m not the only one who has found this. I’m talking mostly about my self-employed friends. The world has changed in many ways post-covid and we all have to find a way to adapt and carry on as best we can. Easy it is not. Its time to dig deep, keep calm and carry on!
As some of you know, I live very close to where our longest-serving poet laureate Alfred Lord Tennyson was born and spent the first 28 years of his life. ‘Ring out the false, ring in the true’ is from his ‘Ring out wild bells’ poem which incidently oddly enough is extremely popular on New Years Eve in Sweden and Japan.
But I think we can maybe all relate to the ‘Ring out the false, ring in the true’ on New Years Eve. I know I can this evening, an evening I spend reflecting on the past and looking ahead to the new…

Anyway I do look forward to 2024- hope springs eternal (which is not from Tennyson)! I hope that you have a positive and successful new year, and of course a happy and healthy one. Life’s what you make it (and thats from a Talk Talk song!).
